GT Wings Demonstrator Visit

It is no secret that Magna Mare has been a strong proponent of WAPS as Wind is a free, abundant and fuel agnostic source of energy capable of delivering between 10~30% fuel savings when a WAPS + wind weather routing is used. 🌊

Last week our M.D. Sotirios C. Katsaras had the incredible opportunity of visiting our partners GT Wings AirWings™🚀 Demonstrator installation at MMS (Ship Repair · Offshore · Workboats) witness Maritime Innovation at its finest & discuss extensively with Founder & CEO George Thompson.

Having seen the first GT Wings AirWings™🚀 system up close, it it clear that this is a disruptive technology which can only be described as the first of a new category of WAPS – a 𝗝𝗘𝗧 𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗹 – the next evolution beyond suction sails, using jets of air to increase thrust - pushing the boundaries of hashtag#WAPS innovation.💡

GT Wings AirWings™ 🚀 enhances airflow dynamics by manipulating air movement within and around the device. Energy is recycled by redirecting inlet flow , using a series of fans, into a pressurized jet of air directed over the rear flap increasing lift dramatically.

GT Wings unique AirFlow™ Technology is set to deliver approximately 𝟭.𝟲𝘅 of the thrust of a suction sail with comparable stowed dimensions. 🎯
