Seong Kyu CHAE
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER & PARTNER
SK holds a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Gyeongsang National University and worked as Hull & Piping Design Manager in Major korean shipyards for over 5 years.
Later on SK took over a Technical sales PM post in SSME S/Y managing over 150 NB Contracts with International Renowned Shipowners with duties including formation of Technical Specifications and Maker List selection.
In 2016 SK was promoted to International Ship Sales Deputy Director for same yard managing a team which successfully secured a number of NB contracts.
SK joined Magna Mare in 2017 as C.O.O & Partner and is responsible for all Operations.
Ahmed Eldessouky
DIRECTOR - TECHNICAL
Ahmed holds a Marine Chief engineer COC from Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport. And from 1998 till now, he is working in all the maritime engineering fields between sailing and new building projects till the retrofit projects.
He started his career sailing as a 3rd Marine engineer at Greek shipping companies, ramping up till he reaches to Marine Chief engineer and Lead Machinery superintendent for the new building projects at United Arab Shipping Company (UASC).
In 2016 Ahmed joined the AP Moller Maersk team as a Lead Machinery superintendent for the new building and retrofit projects in Korea and China.
Ahmed joined Magna Mare in 2022 as Technical Director and he is responsible for all the Technical Operations.
Ho Yoon KIM
DIRECTOR - PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Mr Kim holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering from Dongseo University, Busan.
With an extensive experience in project management, field commissioning spanning over 15 years and having worked in EVAC group and Intellian technologies, HoYoon will now lead Project Management activities for MAGNA MARE - Consulting & Engineering Products & Services.

Mr Kim holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering from Dongseo University, Busan.

Yong Jin LEE
DIRECTOR SHIPS AGENCY
Y. J. graduated from Busan Kyungsang College in 1982, majored in Foreign Trade.
He has served as branch manager of a Korean shipping company up to 1997. During this time we was appointed as a branch manager of the Singapore branch office.
For the last 17 years he has been successfully operating a shipping company mainly dealing in agency services and trading business.
Y.J. is a founding member of Magna Mare and has been our Ships Agency Director since 2010
Sang Woo LEE
NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Mr Lee graduated in 1971 as a Professional Naval architect & Marine engineer from PUSAN National University and obtained a Master’s degree in Mechanical and Naval architecture of PUSAN National University in 1985.
A permanent member of the Society of Naval Architects of Korea since 1975 Mr Lee obtained a Professional engineering license from Korean government in 1982. He was then appointed as a Technical committee member of KOSHIPA (Korea builders, association) from 1982 to 2008 and during the same period also appointed as a Technical committee member of ABS, NK, BV, Lloyds and KR class in Korea.
He has been actively involved in the highest level of Newbuilding sector with thirty eight (38) years’ experience in New ship Design & Building, Sales engineering, Purchasing and Business.
Mr Lee has served as General Manager of Basic Design Department and Research Institute of HANJIN Heavy Industries & Construction Co, LTD, for seventeen (17) years and subsequently as Managing director of Design and Business/Purchasing Division of DAE SUN Ship Building & Engineering Co., LTD. for eighteen (18) years.
Over this period he has led teams for design of more than two hundred (200) Vessels including Bulk /Log Carriers, Product & Crude Oil Tankers, General Cargo/Multi Purpose Ship, Container Vessels , Reefers, Cement Carriers, Navy and Research Vessels, RO-RO Carriers, LPG Carrier and Car Carriers.
Mr Lee is the ex-President and current representative of the Korean Shipbuilding Professional Engineers Association, a member of KESEG (Korea Shipbuilding Engineering Group) and a founding member of Magna Mare Co.,LTD
